Where Are They Now

Meet one of our world changers, Karis! Karis was a part of

Sophia Learning Center’s first class of students in 2019, and she graduated from our preschool program in the spring of 2021. At the time of this story, she was thriving in the third grade! 



Here’s what Karis’ mother had to say about her experience at Sophia and where she is today.

How has Karis been doing in school since he left SLC?

Karis has done wonderfully in school since leaving the SLC. School is exciting to her, and it comes easily to her. She has been a leader in each of her grade levels since leaving the SLC. Her teachers have all given her praises regarding how helpful she has been with her peers in class,  and she has also been a shining star in which her teachers have asked where her early learning was taught. Her teachers stated that she has been well-prepared and has at times shown [and helped] others when they might find a subject difficult.

God continues to work in her life. Her relationship with God is truly special and influences her thoughts and actions as she learns to navigate this world.

What growth have you seen in her?

She has become much more independent and confident. Karis is more emotionally mature than most kids her age. She can handle situations with a lot more patience and understanding than before.

How did SLC prepare Karis for the school system? Is there anything she picked up from her time here that you could say has contributed to her success in school?

Her passion for reading and learning allows her to excel in all subjects. She also has learned to help others when they seem to struggle and wants everyone to keep the pace with her.

What does Karis want to be when she grows up?

Karis wants to be a scientist.
