Training Up
Children Through
Biblical Principles

Why Sophia?
Sophia means wisdom. Hear from families how we have helped them train up their littles ones and learn how they are progressing since graduating our program.

The Sophia Advantage
Proverbs 22:6 tells us to "train up children in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." How do we train up children? Well, to us at Sophia Learning Center, the book of Proverbs in the Bible is synonymous for teachings on wisdom, principles on how to live and a great guide for how to train up children. So at Sophia Learning Center, we are utilizing wisdom/biblical principles, along with reading and math fundamentals and life-skills through discipline and traditional core values to help parents to train up their children.
Here's how Sophia Learning Center is Preparing Students and some of our benefits.

With a high focus on literacy and comprehension, 98% of students left meeting and exceeding kindergarten standings, and 43% left above-level readers and were admitted into gifted programs or advanced a grade level.

100% of SLC students exceeded their math goal of learning to count to and identify numbers up to 100 (State of Ohio Standard for Preschool is Counting to 20) and learning to solve beginner’s addition and subtraction programs. Additionally, students were introduced to financial literacy through
weekly shopping trip incentives. They earned money throughout the week and learned how to add and subtract what they spent so that they could purchase weekly prizes from SLC’s incentive store.

SLC graduates have gone on to meet and exceed State of Ohio Kindergarten entry standards on their kindergarten readiness assessments and excel in their kindergarten classes – including some students advancing to higher grade levels upon being admitted into school and being entered into gifted programs.

Each year, students learn an average of 15 Bible scriptures from memory, and over 10 Bible stories and can retell them in their own words. Students also learn about the Armor of God, how to pray and tell other people about Jesus and how to apply the Word of God.
